About Kenn
BEng (Hons), RPEng, RPEQ, RPEV
Kenn Beer is the Founder and Principal Engineer at Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd, established in 2013.
Under his leadership, the company has grown to a team of 45 engineers, Road Safety Auditors, and technical specialists delivering Safe System aligned solutions across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally.
Kenn is a Registered Engineer and Transport Planner, with additional qualifications in training, assessment, and crash investigation. He has conducted over 300 Road Safety Audits and 150 Safe System Assessments on major infrastructure projects worldwide, applying his expertise to improve road safety outcomes across a wide range of contexts.
Kenn was appointed to the Austroads Road Design Expert Panel and was the Lead Author of the 2022 update to the Austroads Guide to Road Safety. His previous roles include Manager Road Safety Engineering, Senior Road Safety Engineer, and Manager Planning for the Victorian Government.
His contributions to global road safety have been recognised with a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award and two National Road Safety Awards. He has led road safety projects across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, the Philippines, the USA, Canada, and Sweden, and has delivered Road Safety Audit training in 13 countries. He has authored over 50 technical papers covering Road Safety Audits, Road Safety Barriers, railway level crossing safety, Safe System implementation, Vision Zero planning and modelling, motorcycle safety, and Safe System crash investigation.
