Last week someone asked me how I would code this crash.
The crash occurred at the entry to Barkly Square in Brunswick, just down the road from one of the Safe System Solutions technical road/street design offices.
This is that crash’s code (by jurisdiction):

In each case, the sub-codes would identify both road users as bicycles, assuming the bikes complied with the relevant e-bike regulations and were not, in effect, illegally operated motorcycles.
But this is a super rare crash type.
Australian Government data shows that around 85% of reported cyclist casualty crashes on roads and streets involve another vehicle, but almost all are cars. (Only around 2% involve a collision with a pedestrian. Bicycle versus bicycle crashes account for an even smaller proportion than that).
